I don’t understand why having rescheduled an appointment that was due to happen on last Wednesday to this coming Wednesday and told that I can only do Tuesday or Wednesday, the plumber is trying to change the appointment to tomorrow.

I’ve always gone about my life without a smartphone so I have to memorise maps and directions before I go out (unless I print them or bring my pocket A to Z) and it boggles my work colleagues who depend on Google maps or whatever.

It’s similar – I can do it because I have to and practice.

After a whole host of unwanted excitement taking Mum to A&E last week and her having her burst appendix whipped out, she is now well enough to watch The Football. The wallchart I printed for her does unfortunately remain too tricksy for her to fill in, so I expect that will be my job at some point

I have been herdivineshadow online for at least 7 years longer than I’ve had any accounts with my legal first and last names.

While I was secretary of the sci-fi & fantasy society for one year, more importantly I think I came second (out of 4 candidates) in the election for that other official committee position of Drunken Master.

I did well, considering I’ve always been tee-total.

Also reminding myself that I don’t need to host my own bookwyrm instance, I can just migrate to a new one if the current one comes back online.

(I would love for them to have a status page or actually communicate on their mastodon account, but they don’t 🙁 )

Every so often someone will call the charity I work for thinking that we will want to clear their deceased relative’s house for them for free or take whatever furniture they are trying to get rid of from their own home.

We don’t even have charity shops.
