I feel like many people don’t know or have forgotten Tom Hardy’s MySpace era

I know what my favourite band look like. I’ve seen them probably about 10 times in person at this point and watched countless videos. I’ve been at the front of gigs enough times and now I like being further back where it is slightly less energetic.

Anyway, it got me thinking and really the thing I want from being at a concert is that visceral feeling of being in community/communion with everyone in that room who loves this band as much as I do.

…but eh whatever it’s a gig and we are all squashed in together and more importantly, because we were squashed in together I was getting too hot so I told him and he swapped places so I now had less human at my back and was cooler. I think among whatever thoughts he was having was that he was taller than me and I wouldn’t be able to see, because he did seem to check a few times but the thing about going to gigs is the being there, with the other fans, feeling the music blast you at volume.

Just come back from seeing my favourite band, AFI, in Birmingham and ahhhhhhhhhhh they were so good and last night’s gig was even better than the London one last week so actually it’s good that the London date only got announced weeks and weeks and weeks after the rest of the tour.

Probably about 3 or 4 songs in, I turned to the guy behind me and asked him to swap places and he was like “no, it’s ok” I suspect because he was aware he was very close and I dunno what else he might have assumed…

At least two people at the train station who are likely candidates for “people who are going to the same gig as me 100 miles away” and one of them has complimented my socks (RNLI socks)

Somewhat relatedly, I have a t-shirt from ESA that has an astronaut, the ESA logo on and the phrase “Space is our middle name” and now after many many years I have realised that they are referring to “Space” being what the middle letter of the acronym ESA stands for.

I just thought they were like oh yeahhh we do space

NGL this whole time I thought John Williams the composer had a side gig playing classical guitar

I’ve also messaged an artist on bandcamp to find out if the digital only EP with 6 songs on it is indeed really the same price as their swanky looking vinyl version of that EP at £24 because ok £24 for a vinyl record with 3 songs that were on the last release plus instrumental versions of those 3 song feels ok because I get a thing to hold but digital only when I question where I’d even get the same frequencies out of the music and not even a thing to hold ehhhhhhhh

Also, while I’m here, that bandcamp does not include VAT until you are in the checkout process INFURIATES me because ok sure £15 for only files, fine but then SUDDENLY it’s £18 somehow????????? I could not live in the United States for many reasons but THISSSSS!!! is a medium sized one

Buying a CD from the record shop which will get sent to me in the post and I will then rip MP3s from instead of spending £4 more for the digital album on bandcamp feels weird but also makes more sense to my wallet
